Founded in 2020 by Adriana Barcelo, a proud Mexican-American mother enthusiastic about innovation and quality, The Spice Jam was designed to offer authentic, unique flavors to the table. Drawing inspiration from her roots in Mexico, Adriana started creating recipes that represent the lively culinary traditions she grew up with while addressing a need for healthier, more natural options in everyday products.

The journey started at home during the pandemic. Adriana, who has always loved making desserts, focused on one of her favorites: jam. Combining classic Mexican recipes with her own innovative changes, she made jams with significantly less sugar than commercial versions, allowing the natural flavors to shine. Her creations were a hit with family and friends, who encouraged her to start selling them. From there, the business developed to include organic tea blends, peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, and more—all prepared with the same attention to quality and tradition.
As a family-owned business, The Spice Jam is profoundly established in the ideals of community and heritage. Adriana’s enthusiasm for making exceptional products, together with the support of her family, contributed to the company’s growth. Thanks to God and the amazing support from the community, The Spice Jam has established an active following, participating in weekly markets and partnering with local retailers.

Now, the family is trying to expand The Spice Jam’s reach across Arizona, bringing their original, handcrafted products to markets in Patagonia, Sonoita, Oro Valley, Bisbee, Tucson, and more. With every jar and product, The Spice Jam carries forward the values of creativity, tradition, and the love of family that started it all.
